Targeted Admission: General Information In the 2026/2027 academic year, targeted admission quotas based on state grants were allocated in some areas to meet the demand for highly qualified specialists. According to the Knowledge and Skills Assessment Agency, targeted quotas are distributed as follows: for school education directions – by districts; for healthcare directions – by districts; for arts directions – by theaters. ## Who Can Participate in Targeted Admission?
Only applicants who permanently reside and are registered in the area for which targeted quotas are allocated can participate in targeted admission. For example, an applicant registered in one district cannot choose a targeted direction allocated for another district. ## For How Many Years is the Grant Provided?
The state grant based on targeted admission is given to the applicant for the entire duration of study. Depending on the field of study, this duration can be: 4 years or 6 years.
The graduate is obligated to work in the respective region for 5 years after graduation. ## Can One Participate in Both Targeted and General Admission Simultaneously? An applicant who chooses a targeted direction is first selected based on the targeted quota.
If their score does not qualify for the targeted spot, they can also participate in the competition for the general quota in the same direction. For example, an applicant permanently residing in the Zomin district selects the "Medical Treatment – Zomin District" direction at the Tashkent State Medical University: they first compete for the 3 targeted spots allocated for the Zomin district; if they do not qualify for the targeted quota, they can participate in the competition for the general quota in the same direction. ## Re-Selection in the General Quota An applicant recommended for admission based on the targeted quota is not re-selected in the general quota. ## How to Determine Priority of Choice?
In participating in targeted admission, the significance of priority choice does not matter. Regardless of whether the applicant chooses "State Grant" or "Field of Study" as a priority, they participate in the competition based on the targeted quota. ## Is It Possible to Choose All Five Directions in Targeted Admission?
If there are corresponding targeted quotas available for the applicant's permanent residence, they can form all five choices from targeted directions. Each choice will initially be considered as targeted, and then the general quota will be reviewed.
