Pearson BTEC International Program Implemented at Technical School No. 1 in Nukus

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Technical School No. 1 in Nukus — this was reported by the presidential press service. The school has implemented the Pearson BTEC international educational program from the United Kingdom, which has been launched for the first time in Uzbekistan at this institution.

The program has been implemented in accordance with the presidential decree dated July 17 of this year on "Additional measures for the implementation of secondary specialized, vocational, and higher education programs based on international educational standards." We previously reported that 100 technical schools will transition to the international program. ## Opportunities of the International Program - The program is applied in 70 countries around the world; - Graduates receive a diploma recognized in over 70 countries; - The main feature is the integration of theoretical knowledge with practical skills; - For this purpose, modern workshops and digital laboratories have been established.

We have previously written in detail about the recognition of the international BTEC program in 70 countries. ## Financing and Learning Conditions The total cost of the project is 11.9 billion soums, of which 2 billion soums have been allocated by partners.

Modern workshops with a capacity of 240 places have been created at the technical school, which currently has a total of 1,203 students enrolled. The technical school is located on an area of 4 hectares, with a total building area of 4,600 square meters.

It is planned to implement dual education and prepare specialists for the leading sectors of the regional economy. ## Spin-off Program and Employment Opportunities A "spin-off" educational program has also been launched with private partner Salovutdin Ilyosov: within its framework, 136 students are mastering in-demand modern professions, with core subjects taught in English.

As a result of practical training, the employment opportunities for graduates abroad are expanding: this year, 25 unemployed citizens trained in welding at the technical school have been sent to work in Estonia, where they earn up to 3,000 euros per month.

Additionally, agreements have been reached to train the necessary specialists for the industrial zone being established, valued at 40 million dollars. While familiarizing himself with the conditions created at the technical school, the head of state noted that the demand for qualified personnel in the international labor market is growing, and he provided instructions on organizing the educational process in accordance with the needs of employers.
