Those who did not gain admission to universities can participate in the selection for vacant positions

Certain applicants who were not recommended for admission to state universities for the 2026/2027 academic year still have a chance to enroll. Candidates who have achieved the minimum passing score can participate in the additional selection for vacant bachelor's places.

According to existing regulations, the selection will be conducted only for the fields corresponding to the subjects taken by the applicants in the tests and the language of instruction. Who can participate in the additional selection?

To apply for vacant places, an applicant must: participate in the entrance examination; achieve a result equal to or higher than the minimum score set by the State Commission; not be recommended for admission based on the primary mandate. Additionally, applicants who scored sufficient points but did not choose a university and educational field in the second phase of admission also have the right to participate in the competition for vacant places.

The direction chosen must correspond to the relevant subjects. An applicant cannot choose any available direction freely.

Requirements for the chosen bachelor's direction: test subjects must match the subjects and language on which the candidate took the exams. What will the process be like and what are the consequences?

Will grants be provided? Admission to vacant places will be based on a basic payment contract.

The competition strictly adheres to the ranking of candidates based on their test scores. Applicants with higher scores will be prioritized for available positions.

When will the selection begin? According to legislation, registration for vacant places begins one week after the announcement of the results of bachelor's admissions and lasts for one week.

At a press conference on August 17, organized by the Knowledge and Skills Assessment Agency, it was announced that the additional selection for 2026 is planned to be held on August 22-23. Currently, vacant quotas are being counted.
