On the Day of University Studies Beginning, Bus Passengers in Tashkent Increased by Nearly 1.9 Times
Curated and fact-checked based on official notices from the Ministry of Higher Education and university press offices.

On September 7, the number of public transport users in Tashkent significantly increased, coinciding with the start of the new academic year in higher education institutions. This was reported by the press service of the Tashkent City Traffic Organization Center (TCTOC).
According to the data provided, on this day, 22,032 trips were made on 170 bus routes, delivering 1,456,926 passengers to their destinations. The day before, 783,090 people used the buses.
The metro also transported 1,049,288 passengers, while on September 6, this figure was 640,834. Thus, on September 7, the number of bus passengers increased by nearly 86 percent compared to the previous day, while the metro saw a 64 percent increase.
However, since September 6 fell on a Sunday, it would be incorrect to attribute this growth solely to the start of the academic year. The flow of transport on the capital's roads also increased.

On September 7, more than 1.5 million vehicles were in motion throughout the day—152,000 more than the day before. During peak hours, the congestion level at six intersections reached 7 points, and at one intersection, it exceeded 7 points.
The flow of cars in Tashkent has increased, yet congestion has not intensified—how has this been achieved?
