Number of Professors and Instructors in Uzbekistan's Universities Exceeds 49,000

At the start of the 2024/2025 academic year, the number of professors and instructors (excluding part-timers) in Uzbekistan's higher education institutions stood at 49,600. This figure represents an increase of 17,500, or 54.5 percent, compared to the beginning of the 2020/2021 academic year.
Of the total teaching staff, 26,700 are men (53.8 percent) and 22,900 are women (46.2 percent).
