In Uzbekistan, the number of citizens over 40 years old seeking higher education is increasing year by year. In the 2015/2016 and 2016/2017 academic years, the number of students in this category was the lowest — 170 and 174 respectively, but starting from the 2017/2018 academic year, the number sharply increased: from 2,142 to 53,483 by the 2025/2026 academic year. One of these students is 44-year-old primary school teacher Baxor Beknazarova.
