Student Enrollment in Uzbekistan Exceeds 1.5 Million

The National Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan reports that at the start of the 2025–2026 academic year, the number of students in the country’s higher education institutions stands at 1 million 535 thousand. This figure represents an increase of 102,200 students or 7.1% compared to the previous academic year.

Among the students, 782,900 are women and 752,100 are men. The dynamics of student enrollment over the years is as follows: 2021/2022 academic year — 808,400; 2022/2023 academic year — 1,042,100; 2023/2024 academic year — 1,314,500; 2024/2025 academic year — 1,432,800; 2025/2026 academic year — 1,535,000.
