Number of Students Exceeds 1.5 Million

TASHKENT, June 21 — At the start of the 2025/2026 academic year, the number of students studying in higher education institutions in Uzbekistan reached 1 million 535 thousand, according to the National Statistics Committee. This figure represents an increase of 102,200 or 7.1% compared to the previous academic year.

Of the total, 782,900 are female students and 752,100 are male. For reference, at the beginning of the 2021/2022 academic year, the number of students was nearly half, amounting to 808,400.
