Classes at Tashkent Universities Will Start at 08:00 — Ministry Explains Reasons

Beginning in the 2026/2027 academic year, classes at higher education institutions in Tashkent will start at 08:00. This was announced by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations.

The new measure is aimed at effectively managing traffic flow in the capital and reducing road congestion during peak hours in the morning and evening. According to the ministry, starting classes earlier will allow students and faculty to plan their travel time more efficiently.

It is also expected to facilitate the effective organization of the educational process throughout the day and optimize traffic flow in the city. The change is focused on expanding the opportunities for students enrolled in both daytime and evening programs to plan their academic day, conduct classes, and manage other educational activities.

University administrations have been tasked with starting classes on time, organizing the educational process based on the new guidelines, and ensuring necessary conditions for students. The ministry emphasized that this new requirement applies only to first-shift classes at higher education institutions in Tashkent.
