The Russian House in Tashkent Organized a SUP Event for Students

SUP surfing is becoming a good tradition for students. The Representation of Rossotrudnichestvo in Uzbekistan, in collaboration with the 'SUP GO UZ' club, has been organizing such events for two years.

On July 8, over 40 young men and women studying in Russian universities under government quotas gathered by the Anhor canal, along with students from Uzbek universities. The event took place along the Anhor canal near the Japanese garden.

Participants were provided with SUP boards, life jackets, paddles, and symbolic caps right on the spot. Before the start, experienced instructors explained how to stand correctly on the board, follow safety rules, and manage the board to enjoy the ride.

Participants were expected to paddle a distance of 2.5 kilometers: starting from the 'Morzhklub' sports club, along the Minor mosque, passing under the bridge, to the Japanese garden and back. The first part of the distance turned out to be somewhat challenging: students paddled against the current and encountered small whirlpools along the way.

The return journey was much easier and more enjoyable — participants paddled with the current, enjoying the city views and the wild ducks along the canal. Among the participants were both those familiar with SUP surfing and newcomers who stood on the board for the first time.

Coaches monitored the students throughout the route and provided assistance when necessary. During the paddling, students managed to get to know each other, take photos, and support the first-time participants on the SUP.

Upon returning to the shore, many expressed their gratitude to the organizers and shared their impressions. 'In such sincere moments, you realize that your work is not in vain,' noted a representative of the Russian House in Tashkent.
