EAEU and SCO Sign Cooperation Plan Until 2030 — Trade Reached $371 Billion
The Eurasian Economic Commission and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization signed a joint action plan for 2027–2030, aimed at implementing a memorandum of understanding signed in 2021.

TASHKENT, Sept 17 — Sputnik. The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) and the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) signed a joint action plan for 2027–2030 in Beijing.

The document aims to implement the memorandum of understanding signed in 2021. The trade volume between EAEU countries and SCO states reached $371 billion in 2025, nearly four times higher than the figures from a decade ago when the Union began its operations.

Growth is expected to continue in 2026. In the first half of the year, trade between the two unions amounted to $197 billion, increasing by more than 17%.

Currently, about 48% of EAEU's total external trade is with SCO countries. According to Bakytzhan Sagintayev, the most significant cooperation benefits are expected in four areas: — transport and logistics infrastructure; — industrial and technological cooperation; — agro-industrial complex and food supply; — artificial intelligence and digital transformation.

The joint plan also covers fields such as economy, information and communication technologies, customs regulation, sanitary, veterinary and phytosanitary measures, and consumer rights protection. The document was signed during EAEU days held in Beijing.

Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia simultaneously belong to both EAEU and SCO. A trade and economic cooperation agreement exists between China and EAEU, while a free trade agreement is in place with Iran.
